Why isn’t my Live Wallpaper moving on my iPhone?
Wake your iPhone and look at the Lock Screen
The motion plays once each time you wake or raise your iPhone. It doesn’t loop, and it never plays on the Home Screen.
Turn off Low Power Mode
iOS pauses Live Wallpapers while Low Power Mode is on. Turn it off in Settings › Battery, then lock and wake your iPhone.
Turn on the Live Photo button in the wallpaper preview
When iOS shows the wallpaper preview, the Live Photo button at the bottom must not be crossed out before you tap Add or Done. If it is, iOS sets the still frame instead. To check a wallpaper you already set, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, and look at the same button.
Update to iOS 17 or later
Live Photo Lock Screen wallpapers need iOS 17 or later. SpacePaper itself needs iOS 26 or later.
Seeing “Motion not available”?
iOS decided that the clip can’t animate as a wallpaper. In our testing, it usually happens when the Live Photo’s video is larger than 1920 pixels on its longest side, or the moment is long or shaky. SpacePaper’s gallery wallpapers are prepared within these limits. For a video you converted yourself, trim it to a shorter, steadier moment and convert it again.
Using SpacePaper? Check the Shortcut Helper
If the SpacePaper Shortcut was deleted or renamed, the wallpaper can’t be set as Live. Reinstall it from SpacePaper › Settings › Install Shortcut Helper.
Still not moving? Set the wallpaper again from its page in SpacePaper, then restart your iPhone. If it still doesn’t play, contact us and tell us which wallpaper it is.
